Global Head Spin, 2015, Bronze (Available in Green Patina or Polished Bronze) Edition of 9, 24h x 14w x 12.5d
When turned slowly the faces of this ‘ball of wonder’ are looking out and capture people in awe, but when spun fast they portray an overwhelmed dizziness that we may all feel at times. There are different facial features representing different cultures, and with a hand beneath their chin, and a hand scratching head(s) in bemusement, they all share the globe together. The base shows aquatic features, and the birds circle the heavens when revolving in a clockwise fashion.
This sculpture was shown at the Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art in a show called ‘Over the Counter Culture’.
