a
THE LURE
The call of the siren lures sailors out to sea.
The lure is the woman as muse, but the muse is in a different realm. The man / fish has the salmon-like upstream impulses and captures the innate nature of the impulse for creativity, for procreativity, representing the promise of desire. The glass / water acts as the division between earthliness and the unattainable, a division of heaven and earth, of ideality and reality, the reality of the flesh and the longing for spiritual divinity, for immaterial transcendence.
